Description
This buttery, flaky 3-ingredient pie crust is the ultimate foolproof recipe for sweet or savory pies. No fancy tools, no chill time — just simple ingredients and unbeatable flavor in minutes. Perfect for beginners and pros alike!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter (chilled and cubed)
- 4 –6 tablespoons ice water
Instructions
- Mix the flour and butter: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and chilled butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water: Gradually add 1 tablespoon of ice water at a time, mixing just until the dough holds together when pressed. You may not need all the water.
- Form and roll: Shape the dough into a ball, then flatten into a disc. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to fit your pie pan. No chilling required unless desired.
Notes
For a sweeter crust, add 1 tablespoon of sugar.
For extra flakiness, chill the dough for 15–30 minutes before rolling.
This recipe yields one 9-inch pie crust. Double for a top and bottom crust.
