Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
½ cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Gradually mix in the flour until dough forms.
4. Scoop and roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on tray.
5. Gently flatten tops with a fork.
6. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
7. Let cool on tray 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
Chilling the dough for 20 minutes can help prevent spreading.
Add 1 tsp vanilla extract for classic flavor.
