Description
A warm, spiced apple pie salsa served with homemade cinnamon tortilla chips. Quick to make, perfect for fall gatherings, and always a crowd favorite.
Ingredients
4 medium apples (mix of Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Fuji)
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Pinch of cloves
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 flour tortillas
2 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
1. Peel, core, and dice apples into small cubes. Toss with lemon juice.
2. Mix apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, honey, and vanilla. Choose to chill for freshness or cook lightly for softness.
3. Cut tortillas into wedges, brush with butter or oil, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and bake at 350°F until crisp.
4. Serve apple pie salsa with cinnamon chips, or add it as a topping for ice cream, pancakes, or cheesecake.
Notes
Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for the best flavor.
Store salsa in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
For a sugar-free version, use monk fruit or maple syrup.
