Description

This Hot Honey Feta Recipe features a creamy baked feta block, golden and warm, drizzled with spicy chili honey, and finished with crushed pistachios and fresh thyme. It’s the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, salty, and nutty—an appetizer that impresses every time.

Ingredients

1 block feta cheese (preferably in brine)

1/3 cup raw honey

1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)

1/4 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

2 tbsp chopped pistachios (toasted)

1 tsp fresh thyme leaves

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Pat the feta block dry and place it in a small cast iron skillet or oven-safe baking dish.

3. Drizzle the feta with olive oil and lightly season with black pepper.

4. Bake for 15–18 minutes until the feta softens and edges turn golden.

5. While baking, prepare the hot honey: In a small saucepan, simmer honey with chili flakes for 2–3 minutes on low heat.

6. Optional: Add apple cider vinegar and smoked paprika for added depth. Let the hot honey cool slightly.

7. Remove feta from oven and drizzle generously with hot honey.

8. Top with chopped pistachios and sprinkle fresh thyme on top.

9. Serve immediately with toasted bread, crackers, or fresh veggies.

Notes

Use Greek feta in brine for the creamiest texture and bold flavor.

Make your hot honey in advance and store it in a jar for up to 2 weeks.

Try adding lemon zest, rosemary, or mint for variations.
