Description

A creamy, smoky, warm appetizer dip made with smoked gouda, caramelized onion, and crispy beef bacon. Ideal for gatherings or comfort nights.

Ingredients

2 cups smoked gouda, shredded

1/2 cup cream cheese

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced

4 slices beef bacon

1 tbsp butter

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1/4 tsp garlic powder

Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional: chopped chives or green onions for garnish

Instructions

1. Caramelize the onion in butter over medium-low heat for 25–30 minutes until golden.

2. Cook beef bacon until crispy, then crumble. Set some aside for garnish.

3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.

4. Fold in shredded gouda, caramelized onion, and most of the bacon. Stir well.

5. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 375°F for 15–20 minutes until bubbly.

6. Top with reserved bacon and herbs. Serve warm with bread, chips, or vegetables.

Notes

Use young or semi-aged gouda for better melt.

Make ahead and reheat before serving.

Do not use pre-shredded cheese.

Avoid freezing for texture preservation.
